I'd grown quite tired of this caper and the following sewing up of tears that came of it. This one particular time it did it, the entire sail drifted forward and wrapped itself around the foremast top, I knew that in a very brief time it would be rent beyond repair and I climbed the mast to free it. If you are wearing garments they'll get wet, and as its sea water, the salt will then stop the garments from ever correctly drying until it's rinsed with fresh water. Fresh water can be extremely precious on a sailing boat far from land, it's not to be squandered in rinsing out clothes. So if one doesn't wear any, it will not get dirty and need washing does it? Along with all these amazing benefits one gets a nice even tan, what could be better?)
